The Homeless Animal Rescue Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in our shelters. We donate 100% of the proceeds to rescues, sanctuaries and organizations that help animals in need.
How long have you been in the Pet Industry? 10 Years
What drew you to the Pet Industry? Love for helping Animals
The best thing about your experience so far? Seeing the transformation of Shelter Animals in Foster Care
Are you a solo petrepreneur or do you have employees? Two Founders
If you could change/add/create ONE thing in the pet industry what would that be? End the Killing of Homeless Animals
What is the most interesting thing about your business or rescue group? Target Corporations to Raise Awareness for Shelter Animals
Do you set goals for you business? Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly? Quarterly
Do you remember the last time you had a weekend off? Yes
Do you regularly take vacations? No
Your biggest complaint about the industry? Too Fragmented, Money is an issue for Rescues
What is your advice to a young person joining the pet industry? Be passionate
Your favorite thing about your customers (i.e. pet parents). The common LOVE for animals
What is the best thing you have done for your business to help you grow? Meet like minded people that help support the cause
When did you realize that this industry was more fun/rewarding/compassionate (add your own!) than a previous industry you may have worked in? Every time I bring a Foster home and see how rewarding the transformation is!!!
If you weren’t in the pet industry – what other profession would you love to do? Event Management
