At American Pet Professionals, (APP), we know what it takes to be a leader in the area of networking, education, motivation, growth, collaboration and community for the pet industry. APP started in February of 2009 with the modest idea to bring together, unite and educate pet businesses and the animal rescue community on Long Island, N.Y. APP is the pioneering business-networking organization that has now been serving pet professionals from all areas of the pet industry nationwide for nearly 13-years. APP’s foundation was built on always bringing together and allowing any pet professional of the pet industry to join, learn from each other and work together.
Networking – Hosting over 125 in-person networking events with professional speakers from inside and outside of the industry to help teach our pet professionals since 2009. In addition many of our networking events were also fundraisers for non-profit animal rescues. Events are held in many locations across the country as well as webinars and courses to help those who cannot attend in-person. Prior to the pandemic we also have always hosted virtual live networking events for our members to attend. Since January 2020 we have hosted well over 100 live online networking events!
Education - Educating pet professionals is one of the pillars of our foundation. We have also strived to bring the best and timely information to pet professionals to help them learn, grow and prosper in their pet businesses and animal rescues. We have covered numerous topics over the years and always offer up-to-date educational seminars, webinars and qebinars (Q&A webinars) and new in 2021 Pet Biz Idea Think Tanks! There is always a way to learn with APP!
Content - In addition to our in-person and online educational events, our members are privy to a library of content, workbooks, guides for the pet industry - which is added to monthly. This is available to our members at no additional cost.
Collaboration – APP collaborates with many other pet organizations in our industry, has many affiliates across the country and works with outside parties to offer additional membership benefits to our members. We love collaborating and working with our professional peers in this incredible industry. We also vet each offer that comes our way to ensure it is a quality lead or offer.
Community – APP is a big proponent of uniting the pet community by supporting companies and organizations, promoting the industry to mainstream media, and pet events. We encourage members to always work within their own community locally and nationally to help each other and grow.
Pet Industry Promotion - We are always promoting the pet industry in a positive, professional, welcoming and exciting industry has been a big part of APP since our inception. Offering a Pet Events Newsletter to keep everyone aware of consumer and industry events started even before our organization did! APP's founder, Nancy Hassel, is a professional Public Relations pro for the pet industry and is always helping our Members with promotion and understanding the media. We love to see our industry shine. American Pet Professionals is also a multiple award winning organization and has been honored to receive numerous industry recognitions over the years, work with other top organizations in the industry and has been featured in the mainstream and pet press many times over.
