Kent Animal Shelter is a Not for profit, 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the welfare of homeless animals. Adoption, Rescue, Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, Humane Education, Pet Therapy for Seniors and a Retirement Home for cats that survive their owners. Founded in 1968, located on the banks of the Peconic River in Calverton.

Stop pet dealers and pet shops from selling puppy mill dogs
What is the most interesting thing about your business or rescue group?
The tremendous amount of work that it does even though it is a small non-profit

To exceed numbers of rescues and adoptions from the year before

Individuals and Corporations making a profit off the suffering of animals

100 spay/neuter surgeries, 22 adoptions
What is your advice to a young person joining the pet industry?
Never loose focus, never stop trying
What is the best thing you have done for your business to help you grow?
Making the experience of everyone that visits a good one
When did you realize that this industry was more fun/rewarding/compassionate (add your own!) than a previous industry you may have worked in?
I have not worked in any other industry
